25 May How to use the Silhouette Cameo 4
The Silhouette CAMEO 4 will run on Silhouette Studio just like the older Silhouette machines.
Silhouette CAMEO 4 Software
Before cutting on the Silhouette CAMEO 4, users must download and install Silhouette Studio 4.3.240 or higher. As of this writing, this version of the software is available as an Open Beta software. As are all software updates, this is a free update available directly from the Silhouette America website.
This version of the Silhouette software can be used by anyone – with or without – a CAMEO 4 machine and if you are getting a CAMEO 4 you can download the software prior to receiving your machine so you’re ready!
Keep in mind, Silhouette CAMEO 4 options won’t appear in the software unless a CAMEO 4 has been connected and powered on.
Will Silhouette Studio Upgrades Transfer to CAMEO 4?
The other big question about upgrading to a Silhouette CAMEO 4 is whether one time paid software upgrades will work with the new Silhouette machine. The answer is yes! If you were using Designer Edition, DE+ and Business Edition – they will all work with Silhouette CAMEO 4 and you do not need to repurchase.
If you now have two Silhouette machines you might want to consider upgrading to Business Edition, if you haven’t already. This upgrade will allow you to run multiple machines at the same time cutting down your production time.
You can purchase Business Edition from standard if you are running the free version of Silhouette Studio or you can purchase a prorated partial upgrade to go from DE to Business or DE+ to Silhouette Studio Business Edition.

SILHOUETTE CAMEO 4 BLUETOOTH SET UP TUTORIAL
Setting up Bluetooth on Silhouette CAMEO 4 is a pretty fast and painless process and it will allow you to cut wirelessly with your CAMEO 4.
This CAMEO 4 Bluetooth tutorial will walk you through the set up process step by step.
Start by powering up and turning on your CAMEO 4.
On the touch panel, press the white Bluetooth button so it turns blue. This enables Bluetooth on the cutting machine.
Next you must get your computer to recognize that you have a new Bluetooth device. This process will be slightly different on each computer depending on if you’re using a MAC or PC and on the operating system.
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your computer.
On a MAC, open the System Preferences and click the Bluetooth Icon.
When the Devices box opens, make sure you have Bluetooth “On” on your computer. Then you should see your Silhouette CAMEO 4 listed – but still not connected.
Click “Pair” or “Connect”.
Your computer should now sync to the CAMEO 4 to recognize the Bluetooth connection. You can confirm this has worked correctly when you see “Connected” under the device name.
Open Silhouette Studio and from the “SEND” panel click the machine icon at the bottom. A list of available Silhouette machines will appear. The CAMEO 4 will be listed with the “Bluetooth” icon with a status of “Available.”
The first time you add the Bluetooth machine, and at certain times later, you will get a message that a Firmware Update is available. Before running the firmware update, connect the machine to the computer via the USB cord and then click “Update Now.”
It should take about 10-15 minutes for the firmware update to complete.
